Support travel and professional experiences for CMU Geology, Environmental Science, and Meteorology majors!
Undergraduate students who prepare and present their research at regional and national meetings are much more likely to make the professional connections that lead them to graduate studies and employment in their discipline after they finish their degree. For students who receive these opportunities, it can be a transformational experience that hones their communication and presentation skills and allows them to interact with scientists and professionals in ways that a classroom setting on campus can’t replicate. However, the cost of attending such a meeting can be a substantial barrier to many students, limiting their exposure to professional societies and networking opportunities.
Help EAS to support student professional development by donating to our Geology, Meteorology, and Environmental Science professional developments funds. Your support will allow us to provide funds to offset the cost of student travel to present research at professional meetings, broadening access and participation in these opportunities.

We are grateful to alumni and friends who have participated in the CMU Giving Week Quest in support of our students. There’s still time to give a gift for CMU’s 133rd Anniversary! If you haven’t yet, consider making a gift to your favorite CMU scholarship or fund and help ignite the path for student success.
We’ve reached an incredible 1,000 gifts. Thank you so much, alumni and friends! We’re one more donor goal away from unlocking $1,333 for the Ignite Scholarship that helps first-generation students. A gift to any fund helps!
