Help CMU students achieve their degrees
The Finish Up Chips Scholarship assists students within 25 credits of graduation and at risk of dropping out of school for financial reasons. Contributing to this fund during our week of giving allows CMU students to focus more on their studies and finish their education as planned.

“There was no way I could afford to continue because I was healing physically and had started to feel overwhelmed mentally by the idea of quitting school again. I did not plan to have emergency surgery, I did not plan to spend all my savings, I did not plan to be off work, I did not plan to have a long journey of healing, but I did plan to finish my bachelor’s degree! I finished my degree with everything happening around me because a donor chose to give me an award that would push me when I almost gave up.” ~ April Knolton
April is a nontraditional first-generation student from Detroit. She stopped pursuing her degree years ago when life became too overloaded. When her only child was graduating high school, she vowed to her that she would go back to complete her bachelor’s degree. April is proud to say, “The Finish Up Chips Award empowered me to rewrite the narrative and proclaim, I have a bachelor’s degree!” Being a scholarship recipient made the world of difference for April and many more students like her.
Since receiving the award, April decided to choose CMU as her graduate school! She will begin her MBA in Project Management in January 2023. She continues to shine her light as a CMU Chippewa!
