Support one hundred years of Bands at Central Michigan University!
In Fall 1923, Music Department Head J. Harold Powers enlisted sixteen players and, with the assistance of Registrar and Dean of Men Charles C. Barnes, formed a new Central Normal Band to lend spirit to Football Games. From that first appearance to today, the Central Band program has continued to be integral to campus life and has grown in excellence and stature.
All Central Band Alumni have shared in the development of our strong traditions of musicianship, excellence, and leadership. We hope that YOU can join us this fall as we begin a year-long celebration of ONE HUNDRED YEARS of Bands at Central!
CMU Chippewas and friends really showed their generosity this GivingTuesday. We can’t thank you enough for giving back and igniting the path for CMU student success. Your gifts truly make a difference. Fire Up Chips and happy holidays!
Fire Up for GivingTuesday! Help turn the U.S. map maroon below by giving to the CMU student scholarship or fund of your choice. Once donors from all states are represented, a $1,000 gift will go to the Finish Up Chips Scholarship to support students near graduation.
