Give once to help twice! Dollar to dollar matching up to $20,000.
This endowment was established in 2022 by Nate ’07, ’09 and Nicole ‘10 Tallman in loving memory, and to honor their beloved daughter, Grace Helen Tallman (d. 2019).
Grace had been born nine weeks early with severe complications and passed away a few days after Christmas. The kindness of her nurses lingers with the couple, so they established an endowed scholarship for nursing students at CMU and named it after Grace.
Grace’s scholarship will help send more compassionate nurses out into the world, to make the kind of difference the Tallmans experienced during long, stressful days.
“CMU is where we met and we’re both so passionate about it,” Nate said. “We’re happy to be able to help out the nursing program at CMU and to create something that’s meaningful to our family.”
The Grace Helen Tallman Legacy Endowment supports a senior enrolled in the Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing within the Registered Nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (RN-to-BSN).
Preference will be given to students who express interest within the pediatric field. Student applicants are required to submit an essay describing an experience in their life that has inspired them to pursue a career in nursing and their passion for pediatric care.
