Help us alleviate the challenges of food insecurity that many CMU students face.
Approximately 1 in 3 CMU students experience food insecurity. Contributions to this fund help the well-being and support the academic success of CMU students. Every dollar raised is spent to support this resource!
The Student Food Pantry aims to ensure hunger is not a barrier to any student at Central Michigan University. It helps students stay focused and well-fed with distributions of free food. Learn more about the availability and reasons for the food pantry below.

The Student Food Pantry is open to any currently enrolled CMU student in need of supplemental food assistance. The Student Food Pantry is located near the old North Campus Testing Center under the Robinson Residential Restaurant.
The Food Pantry is open weekly and year-round:
- Monday: 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
- Tuesday: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday: 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday: 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Friday: 12 - 3:00 p.m.
Along with the Food Pantry, in 2020, the Care Pantry was started with supplemental hygiene, cleaning, cooking, and school supplies. This pantry has been growing to help fit students’ needs with products other than food. The distributions follow the same format as the Food Pantry so students can pick up any food and non-food items they are in need of. It is also located near the old North Campus Testing Center under the Robinson Residential Restaurant.
Food for the pantry includes meat, produce, bread, and dairy products. Every dollar donated makes a significant impact. Thank you!
CMU alumni and friends, thank you for 1,000 gifts on GivingTuesday. We’re one more donor goal away from unlocking a $500 gift for the Finish Up Chips Scholarship that helps students who are near graduation. Give a gift to any fund to participate!
Thanks to our giving CMU community, the $2,000 match challenge for the CMU Student Food Pantry has been met, creating a total impact of $4,000 for students on campus dealing with food insecurity.
