About The Diane S. Krider PRSSA Chapter Young Professional Award
The award's mission is to provide PRSSA members with the readiness and resources needed to succeed in the PR world.
The recipient of this award must be a signed IPR major and member of PRSSA for at least one year; be pursuing a career in public relations; have a grade of C or better in each course in the major including electives and a minimum 3.0 GPA overall in the major; must be fulltime student for at least one semester during award years; must commit to attending the national PRSSA conference during fall semester of senior year.
Preference is given to first generation college students. This award is $1,000. A match may be provided, and if so, that amount may be added to the award in the fall of senior year. Activities that may be covered by the Award:
- A maximum of $600.00 in travel costs (airfare or mileage) and/or hotel accommodations to attend the National PRSSA Conference during senior year. Recipients must attend the PRSSA conference to qualify for the award and is highly encouraged to attend the National PRSA Conference the following year.
- PRSA and/or PRSSA memberships. Maximum of $100.00 total (Currently, PRSA Associate Member for PRSSA graduate annual dues is $60.00).
- Registration and travel (mileage) costs for local PRSA Chapter events, PRSA/PRSSA sponsored national, regional or state events or on-line professional sponsored development opportunities (not to exceed $400).
- One-year subscription to PR Week (not to exceed $200.00) and/or Ragan reports (not to exceed $250.00). The recipient of the Award will be determined by the Integrative Public Relations Council in consultation with Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
