WCMU Public Media is a service of Central Michigan University, providing quality public media to central and northern Michigan. WCMU reaches just north of Lansing to Sault Ste. Marie and from the Lake Michigan shoreline to Lake Huron. We work every day to educate, inform, entertain and engage the communities we serve through programming, partnerships, cultural understanding and civil discourse.
We accomplish this work with the assistance of students from Central Michigan University. They gain real world experience working as reporters, on air hosts, board operators, and production assistants. They have filled roles in our engineering and marketing departments, and work the front desk and telephones providing our audience with valuable customer service.
